Raptor RUGBY  est. 2006
The 2008 Raptor Rugby club season is complete.  The boys took the DII Bowl Championship held at MTSU, in Murfreesboro, TN on Sunday, May 18th.  This is the Ravenwood boy's first Rugby State Championship.   The boys started out fast and held on to win a tough match with the much improved Fighting Irish, 24 - 15.   

The girls defense of their 2007 title was an incredibly exciting match.  The lead changed back and forth and at many times was only a two-point margin.  In the end, the girls found themselves one try short and were crowned as the 2008 DI Cup Runner-ups.  Final score:  Lady Raptors 17 - Maryville 24.

  The Raptors were the only school that had both a Boy's team and a Girl's team in State Championship matches.  Both matches were played simultaneously.  Cheers could be heard throughout the day in the Boro' as the Rugby was excellent and the spirits were high.  The coaches were thrilled with the effort by both of our sides.  The effort was surpassed only by our boys' and girls' will and determination.  Their "never quit" attitude showed throughout making us all so very proud.
